Self Control #BibleBeforeBreakfastwithPastorM

James 1:13- 15 TPT

When you are tempted don’t ever say, “God is tempting me,” for God is incapable of being tempted by evil and he is never the source of temptation. Instead it is each person’s own desires and thoughts that drag them into evil and lure them away into darkness. Evil desires give birth to evil actions. And when sin is fully mature it can murder you!

People always blame either God or the devil  when they are tempted and they fall into  the temptation.

Whatever is tempting you is as a result of your own thoughts and desires that you have meditated  on over and over again. Evil  desires give birth to evil actions.
We should not play with temptation.

Proverbs 4 :23  NLT talks about the  importance  of guarding your  heart.

You need to guard your heart  above all else for it  determines the course of your life.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23‭,NLT

Your heart is the gateway to how your life turns out.

Throughout Scriptures we see examples of people who didn’t guard their hearts, who let who they felt determine what they did.

An example is Samson. He  was strong but he had a weakness, he was tempted by beautiful women who were not Israelites. He lacked  self control.

God cannot be tempted by evil and He cannot tempt you with evil. Anytime you feel like something is a strong temptation,  run away fast. Save your life.  Joseph fled when tempted.

Challenge :Esau , King  David and Solomon , find out  what happened to them because they couldn’t control themselves.

Guard your heart above all else because it controls your life.
